Pu'u 'O'o

Through fire and water, volcanoes have created the islands we know of today.  Within the islands there are dormant and active volcanoes with multiple craters still erupting today.  Kilauea's (on the Big Island) newest crater Pu'u 'O'o, first erupted in 1983 and continues to spew forth lava, today. This steady flow has increased the island by over 500 acres.  The link below shows helicopter footage of Pu'u 'O'o.
